A TALENTED Windermere School pupil has made her debut for the Cumbria Under 13 girls cricket team.

Ava Hassan claimed a wicket and two catches during her first match with the side, where they faced off against Northumberland last week.

Ava, who lives in Burneside, has developed her passion for cricket thanks to coaching from the specialist staff at Windermere School and Burneside Cricket Club, who have an active junior section.

With high level coaching, and a driven desire to progress in her chosen sport, Ava is looking toward a bright future in cricket.

Mr Daniel Reid, Head of Physical Education at Windermere School, said: “Ava is a talented all-around athlete, and it is fantastic to see her representing Cumbria at cricket this season.

"We encourage our pupils to perform to the best of their ability and have a long tradition of pupils representing the school at county level and beyond."

The school has praised Ava for her accomplishments, and for reaching such a high level in cricket.

The Cumbria Cricket club has enjoyed a long and successful history.
