NETHERFIELD won their third consecutive game after they defeated relegation threatened Chorley by 176 runs at Parkside Road.

The Field who are now fourth in The Northern Premier Cricket League put on a dominant display, after Matt Jackson returned second innings figures of 7-34 where Chorley were bowled out for just 57 off 23.2 overs.

However, Netherfield dominated the first innings after Josh Dixons knock of 71 as well as Shrikant Mundhes 55 saw the hosts post an imposing total of 233-7 off 50 overs on a wicket which was more conducive to the bowling side.

Netherfield who lost the toss and were put into bat made an imposing start when both Ben Barrow and Josh Dixon put on an imposing first wicket stand of 78.

The partnership set the platform with both players batting through 24 overs as they saw off a Chorley attack which included their Indian Professional Siddesh Lad.

However, Chorley eventually made the breakthrough when Gaurav Dhar bowled Ben Barrow for 43, before Josh Dixon and Shrikant Mundhe piled on the runs with Netherfield surging onto 116.

Mundhe who had batted well for 55 became the next wicket to fall after he picked out Will Moulton off the bowling of Samuel Steeple, while Dixons fine innings eventually came to an end in the 40th over after he was run out for 71.

Netherfield went onto lose three quick wickets with James Bowman, Tom Anderton and Finlay Richardson departing in quick succession with Will Moulton claiming the wickets of both Bowman and Richardson while Anderton was run out.

Brad Earls knock of 31 saw Netherfield pile on more runs before Earl departed falling to Moulton who returned figures of 3-51.

However, Lewis Richardson contributed with an undefeated 12 as Netherfield closed on 233-7 off 50 overs.

In reply to Matt Jackson saw off both Siddesh Lad and Harry Barclay while Shrikant Mundhe claimed the wicket of Louis Johnson with Finlay Richardson taking all three catches.

Jackson continued to rip through the visitors where he picked up his third wicket seeing off Will Moulton was caught by Lewis Richardson.

Samuel Medhurst brought into the attack bowled Chorley Captain Andrew Holdsworth for 27, before Matt Jackson ripped through the lower order bowling Andy Flear and Kyle Dixon while the opening bowler trapped Alexander Howarth LBW.

Jackson finished with figures of 7-34 when he bowled Samuel Steeple before Samuel Medhurst finished the game off taking the wicket of Gaurav Dhar who was caught by James Bowman with Chorley all out for just 57 off 23.2 overs.
