KENDAL finished sixth in The Northern Premier Cricket League after they defeated Longridge by 5 wickets at Shap Road.

Chris Millers first innings return of 6-32 saw Kendal bowl Longridge out for just 73, before Millers second innings knock of 21 set his team up for the win with both Oliver and Toby Tyson seeing Kendal to victory as they closed on 76-5 off 25.4 overs.

Kendal who won the toss and elected to field ripped through the visitor’s top order after Toby Tyson picked up the wickets of both Joshua Mullin and Matt Joyce before Chalana Da Silva bowled Luke Platt as Longridge slumped onto 22-3.

Chris Miller who brought himself into the attack bowled Dan Wilson before he trapped Jonathan Millward LBW, while Chalana Da Silva who played his last game for the Club bowled Thomas Turner.

However, Miller finished off the Longridge innings taking the wickets of Matt Greenall, Zac Christie, Nick Wilkinson and William Vause, with Toby Tyson taking the catch of Greenall while Darren Nightingale collected the catch of Zac Christie as Longridge were all out for 73.

Kendal made a bad start to the second innings after William Vause bowled Darren Nightingale for 5, Chris Millers top score of 21 saw Kendal battle onto 33, before the Club Captain was run out by Thomas Turner.

Longridge continued to apply some pressure when Jake Durnell bowled Harry Lee while Daniel Wilson claimed the wickets of both Chalana Da Silva and Shane Hyland.

However Oliver Tysons undefeated knock of 14 off 33 balls and Toby Tysons undefeated 5 off 19 saw Kendal ease to victory as they closed on 76-5 off 25.4 overs.
