KENDAL Town will have to say goodbye to one of its young aces as Hugo Rodriguez signs with Ramsbottom United.

The ace player has played for the Mintcakes since last year and has been praised by his team for his repeated good performances.

Hugo released a statement on his departure.

He said: "It has taken a lot of thinking for me to come to this decision and trust me hasn’t been easy one.

"Kendal town gave me that love for the game again after I lost it for many years.

"It has been an absolutely honour to defend the badge and to be given the opportunity to be club captain.

"I have meet some top people along the way and I’m sure we will stay in touch.

"I’m gutted I couldn’t help more in the last couple of months due to injury.

"All the best to Jay, Jordan, Macca and all the boys in the new chapter.

"I know your heart, desire and passion will turn this situation around.

"I’ll be checking the scores each week as another Mintcake fan."

The club wishes Hugo all the luck in his future career with Ramsbottom United.
