OXFORD-based Sri Chimnoy CT rider Tejvan Pettinger comfortably retained his Shap Hill Climb title on Monday, covering the breezy 9.1 miles from Kendal to the summit in 28mins 27secs.
This year's event drew cyclists from all over Britain and third was Paul Jones of Bristol South, just ahead of Scottish mountain biking international Gavin Shuttleworth from Stirling.
Adrian Dalgleish (Lune RCC) headed the local contingent in fifth with former Kent Valley man Michael Stretch (Macclesfield Whs) eighth, Sam Huddleston (Herbalife/Wheelbase) 10th and Jonathan Knox (Wallis Cycles CHH) 11th. Fastest woman was evergreen veteran Anne Plant (Herbalife/Wheelbase) in 36-55.
Former British best All-Rounder Andy Wilkinson (Port Sunlight Whs) won the Nelson Wheelers 25 beside Bassenthwaite Lake in 52-06 on Sunday and the latest Kent Valley midweek 10 at Milnthorpe was won by David Baxter in 22-24 from Jonathan Knox on 23-16.
