KESWICK regained top spot in Westmorland League Division One with a comfortable 5-2 win at Windermere on Tuesday night.

The Fitz Park team bounced back from a disappointing weekend where they lost 7-2 to Pirelli in The High Sheriffs Cup.

Appleby had gone top of the Division after defeating Ibis 3-1 at the weekend, but on Tuesday night the former league champions dropped back down to second in the table after losing 3-0 to Wetheriggs United. Niall Renwick's hat trick doing the damage for an in-form Riggs team who also defeated Windermere 3-1 at the weekend.

In the other games, Kendal United conceded a stoppage time equaliser as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Penrith on Saturday before they lost 3-1 to Ibis on Tuesday night. Dan Jones with a brace while Josh Ford completed a big win for Peter Rushton’s team.

Ambleside United picked up their first win of the season with a crucial 3-1 win at Kendal County Reserve on Tuesday night. United who are still bottom of the league bounced back after losing 6-1 at Kirkoswald on Saturday.

Pirelli closed the gap on the leaders after they eased past Kirkoswald with a 7-0 win on Tuesday night.

Shap defeated Carleton banks 4-1 to remain top of Westmorland League Division Two as Luke Frazer scored twice before Ben Palmer and Jordan Palmer completed the scoring.

Endmoor picked up two important wins as they closed in on the leaders, at the weekend the team from Woodside Road beat Eden Thistle 3-2, before seeing off Staveley United 2-0 on Tuesday night. Connor Crawshaw-Collins was among the goal scorers.

Sam Hunter and Calvin Hunter-Dale edged Kendal United Reserves to victory when they defeated Windermere Reserves 2-1.

Keswick Reserve beat Langwathby United 4-1, Wetherigg United Reserve edged out Staveley United 3-2, Castletown United defeated Ullswater United 10-5, while Braithwaite defeated Dent 3-2.

In Westmorland League Division Three, Burneside Reserve defeated Penrith Academy 4-3, AFC Carlisle extended their advantage at the top of the table after a hard fought 4-3 win at Sedbergh Wanderer Reserves.

Penrith Royal drew 2-2 with Sedbergh Wanderer Reserves on Tuesday night, while Ambleside Town won 4-1 at Ambleside United Reserves.

In the Peter Daws Memorial Shield semi finals, Penrith Royal defeated Ambleside Town 6-3, while Appleby Reserves beat Penrith Town 6-2.
