KESWICK edged into the final of The High Sheriffs Cup following a dramatic 5-4 penalty shoot out win against Sedbergh Wanderers.

After a drab first half, Keswick should have taken the lead in the second half from the penalty spot only to be denied by Matthew Parkins.

Sedbergh edged 1-0 up soon after when Shaun Gardner scored before Keswick equalised from an own goal as the game went into extra time.

Josh Hilton put Keswick 2-1 ahead but Sedbergh battled back as Andrew Metcalfe scored a penalty.

With the sides level, the game went to penalties with Keswick coming out on top.

In Westmorland League Division One, only one game survived the weather on Saturday as Niall Renwick’s hat trick saw Kirkoswald win 6-2 at Ambleside United.

On Tuesday night, three Division One games were played with Appleby beating Wetheriggs United 5-1, Penrith Reserves winning 5-0 against Sedbergh Wanderers, and Ibis claiming a 2-0 victory over Ambleside United with Luke Deveney and Cory Robinson goals.

Carleton Banks defeated Staveley United 3-2 in Division Two.

Matt Kennedy’s hat trick saw Kendal United Reserve defeat Ullswater United 6-1, Castletown United defeated Greystoke 3-1, Dent routed AFC Carlisle 5-0, Keswick Reserve won 3-0 at Braithwaite while Eden Thistle defeated Appleby Reserve 2-0

In Division Three, Kirkoswald Reserve defeated Burneside 3-2 while Penrith Saints and Langwathby United 3-3.
