I have been having difficulty doing match previews and reviews from the weekend’s play in The Westmorland League, I will make a better job of it next season, so for this I have decided to talk about 1 main match in each division, also very soon I will be putting more photographs on here for you to view, so please look out for that. Expect something within the next 3 weeks.

My match Choice for

Division 1:

Ambleside Utd vs Kendal County:

This match was an easy one to choose this week. Ambleside are 3rd and Kendal County are the run away league leaders. The thing about both these sides is that they have goals, in them and play an attractive brand of football. County have goal machine Daniel Ferguson, whilst Ambleside have a few in the goal scoring charts in Jamie Parkinson with 8 and 2 on 7 goals in Daniel Nevinson and Philip Parsons. Also look out for Zach Clarke on the Ambelside team, he has played for Kendal Town and is playing well for Ambleside.

My view on the match:

I think it will be an entertaining match, but I feel County’s confidence at being top will see them to a 3-1 win.

Division2:

Mason and Freeman Cup 2nd round

Kendal County reserves vs Kirkoswald:

Kirkoswald near the top of the league, whilst county’s reserves are mid table but sprinkled with talent.

The cup always brings up surprise scores, however I think Kirkoswald will win 2-0.

The match is being played at the County ground by Netherfield Cricket Club and kicks off at 2pm.

County have Thomas Bush in goal, look out for him whilst Kirkoswald have Sean Elliot on 25 goals and Roos Cowperthwaite on 22, prolific scorers.

Division 3:

Endmoor KGR vs Kendal Utd:

Another huge match, Endmoor are a place above Kendal Utd, both talented teams, with goals in them, Kendal Utd have been a bit off form in recent weeks, but they are a very talented side managed by a good manager. Look out for Ashley Duffus on the Kendal side, with 16 goals, also take a look at Endmoor’s Niko Noreci with 9 goals.

Prediction:

Endmoor with home advantage 3-1 win.

Division 4:

No huge match stands out this weekend in the division, however my tip would be Greystoke reserves home match with Langwathaby Utd. Langwathaby have been in unbelievable form in recent weeks, flying high right now and look unstoppable. A good blend of youth and some experience in the team. Greystoke inconsistent really but have the potential to do well.

The player to watch out for from Greystoke’s point of view would be Gary Broadhead who has scored 8 goals this season. The main threat from Langwathaby’s point of view would be Tim Horner who is top scorer with 30 goals.

Prediction:

Langwathaby Utd will be too strong for Greystoke, 2-0 win for Utd.

Final thoughts:

I will be interested to see which of the predictions will be right, also look out for regular Kendal Celtic match reports on this blog, kindly sent to me by the club.

Hope you have a good weekend see you again on Monday.
