Kendal Town have confirmed the signing of former Morecambe midfielder Charlie Bailey.

Bailey, who was on loan from the League Two side, put in a string of impressive performances last term where most notably he scored the goal of the season in the 2-2 draw with Lancaster.

Bailey returned to Morecambe at the end of his loan spell at the Pye Motors Stadium, only to be released at the end of the season.

Since his release he had a trial at Southport which wasn’t successful, and the Mintcakes quickly pounced on the talented midfielder.

Bailey made his debut at the weekend where he scored the first goal in Kendal's 3-2 pre-season win at Gretna. Oliver Wood also scored twice in the five-goal thriller.

The Mintcakes travel to Penrith at the weekend before they host Morecambe the following Tuesday. Kendal's pre-season campaign draws to a close on Saturday 6 August as they entertain Workington Reds.

Kendal begin the new season away at Mossley on Saturday August 13 while a midweek home game follows on Tuesday 16 August where they play Ramsbottom United.

Dave Foster's men will also play on both Christmas Eve and Boxing Day when they play the return at Ramsbottom United before the derby game with Lancaster City on Boxing Day

Kendal finish their season at home to Farsley Celtic on Saturday April 22.

The Mintcakes will also compete against new Teams such as Tadcaster Albion, Goole AFC and Colne.
