MOST of the Westmorland League returned after the spell of bad weather in another important afternoon across all four divisions.

There is only a two point gap between the top two in Division One as Keswick close in on leaders Kirkoswald following a 4-2 win at Penrith Reserves.

Richard Bannister scored a brace with Jamie Little and Tom Atkinson also getting themselves on the score sheet.

Sedbergh Wanderers' resurgence continues after an Aaron Seamaszko penalty edged them to a narrow 1-0 victory at Carvetti Utd.

Elsewhere, Lunesdale Utd eased to a 4-1 home win over struggling Ambleside, while Windermere managed to scrap to a 1-0 home win over Kendal County Reserves.

The game between Kendal Utd and Appleby was postponed due to inclement weather.

Division Two of The Westmorland League saw Ibis continue their good run.

They secured a thrilling 4-3 home win over Wetheriggs Utds Reserves thanks to a Mark Selby brace and well-taken finishes from Cory Robinson and Luke Deveney.

Coniston and Endmoor battled out a 1-1 draw as Matthew Wilson was on target for Endmoor.

In a closely fought contest Langwathby Utd overcame a resilient Braithwaite by three goals to two.

Keswick Reserves and Burneside played-out a 0-0 draw at Fitz Park, while Unisun progressed in the Mason and Freeman Cup after a dramatic 6-5 penalty shoot out win at Staveley Utd.

The game had finished 2-2 after 90 minutes.

The Peter Daws Memorial Shield saw Appleby Reserves progress thanks to a 2-0 win over Lunesdale Utd Reserves.

Kendal Utd Reserves are also through thanks to a 9-4 win at Greystoke - Bailey Carlos and Connor Stephenson both claimed hat tricks.

Aiden Dent bagged a brace and James Pattison also got on the score sheet.

At Hollins Lane an own goal saw Burnesides Reserves progress in a 1-0 win over Ibis Reserves as Eden Thistle edged out Dent 3-2 meaning the Carlisle side progress to the next stage.

In the Division Four Austin Wren Cup, Border City drew 1-1 with Greystokes Reserves, while Eamont Rovers could not be separated from Penrith Academy as it also finished 1-1.

Carleton Banks slotted 10 past Penrith Saints in a 10-1 home win while Pirelli also progressed thanks to a 7-1 win over Dent thanks to a hat tick from skipper Alan Hodgson.
