CARVETTI United booked their place in the last four of the Benevolent Trophy after emerging victorious in a five-goal thriller over Appleby.

Tom Armstrong and Neil Dean scored the consolation goals for the Eden club in a 3-2 defeat.

Carvetti will now play Kendal United, who safely secured passage into the semi-finals last weekend.

Division One of the Bluefin Westmorland Football League saw two games as Windermere picked up a big 7-2 win over Penrith Reserves whilst Wetheriggs United defeated Kendal County Reserves 2-0.

Tim Blamire struck the crucial goal for Ibis as they toppled Division Two league leaders Keswick Reserves at the Jubilee Playing Fields.

The result leaves them just one point behind Keswick Reserves, who missed a first-half penalty.

Elsewhere in Division Two, Coniston climbed up to sixth place with a 4-2 win at Langwathby United.

In The Peter Daws Memorial Shield, Dent won 3-2 at Appleby Reserves whilst Lunesdale United Reserves defeated Windermere 4-2.

Division Three's only game saw Eden Thistle defeat Ibis Reserves 6-3 at The Sheepmount Athletic Stadium.

There were no games in Division Four with only one Austin Wren Cup tie taking place as Dents Reserves put five past Penrith Saints with no reply.
