KESWICK picked up four points from a possible six this weekend to open up a seven point gap at the top of Division One of the Westmorland Football League.

On Saturday Andrew Frampton, Richard Bannister and Richard Bell were on the scoresheet to bring an end to Kendal United's unbeaten start to the season in a 3-1 win before Tuesday night saw Ambleside become the first side to take points off them.

Frampton bagged a brace but a Lloyd Trippit strike and an own goal saw Ambleside pick up a point.

Defending champions Appleby sit in second place after two wins this week.

The first came on Friday when goals from Jordan Crawford and Mike Newton were enough to see off Carvetti United before the Eden club put four past Lunesdale United on Tuesday - Dylan Critchley, Newton, Crawford and Ric Faustino on the scoresheet.

Elsewhere on Tuesday Carvetti Utd drew 1-1 with Sedbergh as Kendal County Reserves also drew 1-1 with Ibis with Mark Selby opening the scoring for Ibis.

Ambleside have eight points and occupy third spot following their draw with Keswick and Saturday's comeback win over Penrith Reserves.

Dan Fox levelled from the penalty spot before goals from Kacper Kesy, Jake Routledge, Steve Sewell and Harry Routledge rounded off a good second half display.

In the other game at the weekend Windermere picked up a battling 3-2 win at Unisun Athletic thanks to goals from Matthew Parkinson, Jamie Parkinson and Frankie McGuire.

In Westmorland League Division Two Endmoor's woes continued as they slipped to a 3-1 defeat to Dent, while goals from Mark Nixon and James Mandle earned Carleton Banks a point in a 2-2 draw at Staveley Utd.

Wetheriggs United Reserves made it three from three after a 4-0 win over Ambleside United Reserves with Nicky Cowperthwaite, Antony Bailey, Alex Johnson and Scott Underwood on target.

On Tuesday Carleton Banks won 3-0 at home to Langwathby Utd whilst Joe Gordons goal was enough for Kendal Utds Reserves who edged past Endmoor and Greystoke won 3-2 at home to Shap.

Burneside's Reserves went top of Division Three after defeating Ullswater Utd 5-2 at Hollins Lane - Scott O'Callaghan with a brace, Sam Davies, Nathan Gill and Leigh Ellwood with the goals.

Eden Thistle put seven past Penrith Academy, whilst Greystokes Reserves ran out 6-4 winners against Endmoors Reserves.

The final game saw Ibis Reserves edge to a 3-2 win over Kirkoswalds Reserves.
