GSK South Lakes (Glaxo) won the Cumbria Cup at Cockermouth School over the weekend, but only on goal difference from Windermere. They drew 3-3 when they met on Saturday and both sides won their remaining matches, GSK scoring 18 goals and Windermere 14.
Windermere play in Division 6 NW league yet they beat Keswick/West Cumbria (Division 3) 1-0, Carlisle (Division 4) 2-1 and Kendal (Division 5) 8-0 to complete another successful cup campaign.
GSK needed to win their last match by three clear goals after Windermere had demolished Kendal.
They did not fail, beating Carlisle 5-0 for a deserved tournament victory.
