IT'S Cartmel Races today (Thursay) and top jockey AP McCoy rides at the meeting - Tetley's barbeque raceday.

The idea is in its sixth year as racegoers are encourage to pack a barbeque or picnic while enjoying a day of summer-time jumps racing.

McCoy is sure to have plenty of supporters and his best chances on the card appear to be Sandhurst and Come Back to Me later on the card.

Richard Johnson is also riding at the Lakeland track and he looks to have a great chance with Inmate in the Frank Whittle Partnership Handicap Chase at 3.05, which is burndened with the nap selection.

Charlie Mann sends up Cortinas for the 2.30 race and he looks well up to competing in the European Breeders Chase.

The first race is at 2pm and the last at 5.20pm and the gates open at 10am.

This July raceday is at a reduced admission price and also allows racegoers access to all enlosures. Adults - £15, Seniors - £12, Paddock parking- £5, Course parking - free.
