A PERFORMANCE full of spirit was not quite enough for Kendal Wasps ladies' rugby team at Mint Bridge on Sunday.
Despite a good performance from which they can take plenty of positives, unbeaten visitors Bishop Auckland showed just why they are league leaders as they eased to a 39-0 victory.
Two tries by Kate Hodgson-Raper as well as further tries from Becca Willet, Sally Austen, Eden Button and Becca Stanger consigned a brave home side to defeat.
However, there was some good news from the ladies' section as the under 13 girls travelled to the Penrith Festival and won three games out of three.
Kendal's men's senior team have no game this weekend but the 'social' team take on Ambleside under the lights at 7.30pm on Friday while on Saturday, the Development XV host Vale of Lune, kick off 2pm.
Entry is free for both games and non-members are welcome in the club.
