A VERY competitive game saw Windermere defeat Kendal 26-19 in the post Christmas social game at Mint Bridge.

Both teams produced some high quality rugby as former and current players alike battled it out in front of good crowd.

Windermere fielded a very strong team and played well especially in the first half.

However Kendal ran the visitors close during the second period to make it a relatively close game.

Kendal fielded a mixture of players with former stars such as Ian Vortmann, Craig Hine, Stephen Bowman, Dan Stephens and Arthur Perie and a number of second team players such as James Mackereth and Dan Shorrock.

However Windermere prevailed with Jonny Benson scoring two tries and Bertie Hodgson, Moses Dawson and Bobby Davies also crashed over the try line.

Kendal replied mainly in the second half after Mackereth and Shorrock scored one try apiece before a late penalty try completed the scoring.

Both teams then enjoyed a post game celebration to round off an enjoyable afternoon of rugby at Mint Bridge.
