Jan Vertonghen was the only member of Tottenham's Belgian trio to feature as the Red Devils overcame Russia 1-0 in their second group match.

Victory means Belgium qualify for the last 16 of the World Cup.

The centre-back came on as a 31st minute substitute for Thomas Vermaelen after all three of Tottenham's Belgian representatives were dropped to the bench.

Neither Moussa Dembele or Nacer Chadli were used.

Marc Wilmots' side were disappointing for much of their second Group H match and required an 88th minute strike from substitute Divock Origi to take all three points against Fabio Capello's side.

At 8pm this evening, Nabil Bentaleb's Algeria play their second group match against South Korea.
