Westmorland and Lonsdale MP, Tim Farron The Gazette’s excellent Business and Tourism Awards give us the opportunity to celebrate that success and take pride in local achievements and innovation. Everyone wants to be a winner! But the Gazette’s awards give us the chance to enjoy our collective successes, with the South Lakes continuing to out- perform the rest of the UK. Barrow and Furness MP, John Woodcock We have such a wealth of enterprise and business talent across Cumbria, and it is excellent that The Westmorland Gazette is celebrating this with these awards. I would urge as many businesses and individuals as possible to put themselves forward. Managing director of Cumbria Tourism, Ian Stephens This awards scheme is another great way of recognising and rewarding the hard work and high standards that exist in the tourism industry, one of the most important industries in Cumbria. We would encourage tourism businesses to enter these awards and help shout about their successes to both residents and visitors alike. Cumbria Chamber of Commerce’s South Lakes officer, Derek Armstrong We’d definitely encourage firms to apply and get recognition for their hard-earned achievements during difficult times for industries. I saw some tremendous examples of enterprise last year — I am looking forward to hearing their success stories and seeing them up on stage. Wensleydale Creamery managing director, David Hartley Everyone at was proud the company received the award. The awards ceremony was a fantastic evening. I would certainly encourage businesses to enter the awards. It is a source of pride for the company and encouragement to continually strive to improve. |
