FURNESS Tradition is welcoming two events to Ulverston this month.
The first is Scottish folk duo, Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham, who played to a packed-out venue last year and are returning on the back of a number of enthusiastic requests.
The pair will return this year to Ulverston's Coronation Hall as part of their Britain-wide spring tour. Their Thursday March 12 gig will kick off at 7:30pm. A number of young musicians from Barrow will open proceedings, performing between 7 and 7:30pm.
The second is a stage production retelling one of the Ulster Cycle stories, centred around Irish mythological figure Cú Chulainn.
Dominic Kelly's project looks at legendary conflicts between the kingdoms that the Irish provinces Ulster and Connaught take their names from.
'The Hero Light' will be staged at the Coronation Hall at 7:30pm on Sunday March 22.
