Named after the Kendal architect who built many homes in the town, the pub opened in 2004 and continues to draw in people at throughout the day.
It’s the perfect place to enjoy a pub lunch and catch up on the news via the subtitled Sky News channel, and in the summertime, you’ll find my colleagues and I in there for a quick bite to eat.
Visiting one lunchtime, I chose a bacon and barbecue chicken baguette with salad (£3.69) and chips (60p extra), and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Service was quick – which is essential on a working day l– and there was a friendly buzz about the place.
