GRASMERE Players’ choice for their much awaited summer production this year is one of Alan Ayckbourn’s most popular and darkest comedies, Absurd Person Singular, which relates the changing fortunes - moving up and down the slippery social ladder - of three married couples, over a period of three successive Christmases. The action takes places in three separate kitchens during the 1970s which has given the stage crew this year a special challenge. The team have been working hard creating several different sets while the costume department have had a fun time sourcing 1970s gear.
Directed by Moira Rowlinson, the play runs every Wednesday and Thursday from June 3 to July 9 (8pm) at Grasmere Hall. Tickets are available from Barney’s Newsbox Grasmere (015394-35327 during shop hours) or at the door.
