Young musicians from Morecambe Brass Academy entertained 55 senior citizens at a Christmas party organised by Lancaster and Morecambe Lions Club.
The young people have become a favourite of the guests attending the annual party, and before leaving the young people had already booked themselves in for next year’s party.
Conductor, Tim Weed, said: “The youth band now see the Lions senior citizens’ Christmas party as the start of their own Christmas programme. The young people find the senior citizens a lively and enthusiastic audience for their music.”
Lancaster and Morecambe Lions organise two senior citizens’ parties each year. Both are held at URC, Christchurch, Broadway, Morecambe.
Most of the guests come from local care homes, though there are some from independent groups as well as individuals.
