WYN Chan of Penrith, dazzled both judges and audience with his winning performance in the final of the 36th Keldwyth Cumbrian Young Musician Award held at the Victoria Hall, Grange-over-Sands. The 22-year-old pianist's winning performance was rewarded with the Reg Griffiths Trophy and a cheque for £1,000. Runner-up was 20 year-old singer Daisy Ball, of Colton, near Ulverston, who was awarded the Geoffrey Blake Trophy plus a cheque for £500. Clarinettist Jack Horrocks (21) of Milnthorpe, received a cheque for £250 as did 16 year-old Penrith violinist Monika Davies.
