ONE of the region's top artists is featured in Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2019 programme.

Kendalian Catherine MacDiarmid is already part way through the series and will appear on the Sky Arts channel on Tuesday, March 12 at 8pm.

This is Catherine's third time on the show, having been shortlisted in both 2014 and 2018, where she painted actor Ashleigh Jenson and Eastenders soap star, actor and TV presenter Ross Kemp. Both times she made it down to the last three in the heats.

The show is presented by Stephen Mangan and Joan Bakewell.

Meanwhile, this year promises to be a busy one for talented painter Catherine with a big solo exhibition pencilled in at the Brewery Arts Centre for August.
