FESTIVAL founders, record label bosses, talent scouts and artists will make Kendal's Brewery Arts Centre the place to be this week, as it hosts an annual music convention.

Take Note07 - which takes place at the venue on Wednesday and Thursday (November 7 and 8) - is open to everyone in the industry from musicians to managers, performers to promoters.

Organised by Generator, the North's dedicated music development agency, the annual two-day conference is a free opportunity for those involved in the creation, production, support and promotion of popular music, to go along and ask questions, network and discover.

Former lead singer of Fairground Attraction, Eddi Reader, will open this year's event along with long-term writing partner, Boo Hewerdine, who will be delivering a composition master-class on Thursday.

Other industry big-wigs on the bill are James Endeacott, founder of the new label 1965 Records' which has The View on its books, Solfest founder, Simon Kay, and head of A&R (Artists and Repertoire) from BMG, Caroline Elleray.
