WILD Beasts look set for a successful year with a score of festival appearances, a UK tour and a new album.
The Kendalian indie rockers will play to an audience of hundreds in the DTTR tent at Leeds Festival tonight.
The four-piece released their second album, Two Dancers, earlier this month following the success of last year’s debut, Limbo, Panto.
“It’s a series of scenes. A big party, the street outside later on, or in a bedroom, or desperately hungry and starving to death on a distant beach,” says bassist Tom Fleming, of the new album.
“We were trying to come up with a way to describe it and the nearest we got is erotic downbeat music.”
After a number of appearances at festivals including Latitude and Bestival, the Beasts will hit the road in September for a UK headline tour.
They will take in nine cities in as many days, with venues including Leeds Cockpit on October 1 and Manchester Academy 3 on October 9.
All the King’s Men – the infectiously catchy second single from the new album – will be released on October 5.
