Major Phil Packer – the army officer injured in Iraq who finished the London Marathon in 13 days before taking on the 3,000ft vertical El Capitan in Yosemite – will tell his story with his companions Andy Kirkpatrick and Ian Parnell.

The Asgard Project – a film featuring climber and base-jumper Leo Houlding – will be premiered at the festival alongside The Wildest Dream, based on George Mallory’s Everest expeditions.

Once again the mountain film competition will attract premieres from ac-ross the world, with ten special prizes up for grabs.

The festival takes place from November 19-22 and is the largest and most varied event of its type in Europe, with more than 6,000 visitors each year.
