A TOTAL of seven people were arrested in Kendal during Festive Friday with three for alleged assaults on police officers.
Cumbria Police said that Kendal Police Station was full last night (Friday, December 21) as a result of drunkeness but that officers and police support officers had worked hard to limit violence against the public.
Tonight, officers in Kendal were warning partygoers to "stay in control and know your limits," and said lots of officers were keeping the streets safe.
The spokesman said three people in Kendal including two men and a woman were arrested for allegedly assaulting police officers in separate incidents.
The spokesman said two of the offences were committed as officers tried to deal with other people. A woman was also arrested in Kendal for the alleged assault of a policewoman.
However, none of the officers concerned needed hospital treatment, he said.
By and large, the notoriously-named 'Black Eye Friday' appears to have passed largely peacefully for most in South Lakeland and Furness.
Kendal Police were on patrol and visiting pubs on the lookout for potential troublemakers as part of their plan to intervene early and provide reassurance to the public.

Police there reported a couple of drink-related incidents of people ending up in the cells, criminal damage to a car on the Ormsgill estate and two people being arrested in Park Avenue just after 5am on suspicion of an alleged assault.
Ulverston Police were on patrol in the town centre yesterday afternoon with a focus on retail crime.
Cumbria Police had been warning people in the run-up to Festive Friday that if people were out drinking they should 'have a good one and keep hold of your senses,' rather than spending 'Christmas behind out bars.'
