NETHERFIELD produced a terrible batting display as Fleetwood saw the Cumbrians off in just three hours on Saturday.

The Parkside Road outfit were skittled out for just 66 in the first innings as Ian Holland and Sam Bell finished Field off in the 26th over.

Ben Barrow was out with the second ball of the match when Adam Parker caught him off Holland, and Greg Hall followed shortly after to leave Field 7-2 in the third over.

Pro Colin Ackermann failed to reach a decent target, picking up six runs before Holland caught him off Bell, and Netherfield were in deep trouble.

Just three batters reached double figures in the innings, including wicketkeeper John Huck, who was on 15 before Lee Jones had him out off Holland to become the bowler’s third of six victims.

Craig Walmsley struck 10 but he couldn’t fail from being one of seven batters to be caught during the Netherfield innings, while Bell bowled number 11 Ryan Wilson for 12 as Fleetwood rounded off a superb first innings for them.

Chasing just 67 to win, Adam Parker was in no mood to mess around as he hit 12 fours on his way to an unbeaten 55.

The only wicket of the innings came when Huck caught Mike Clinning for 11 in the eighth over off Nathan Chambers, who was 1-12 from his four overs.

But in the 15th over and at 3.59pm, Parker did what he needed to do to round off a comfortable win for the Broadwater side.
