A PAINTING showing three Kendal landmarks – the cenotaph, the war memorial on Romney Road and the K Village memorial – has been presented to the town’s mayor.
Coun Sylvia Emmott received the painting in the Mayor’s Parlour at Kendal Town Hall from local artist Lynn Marie Dent, who had been commissioned to create the work by Raymond Gill.
The picture, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War, also features a red poppy.
There is to be display in the Town Hall Assembly Room next year to commemorate the centenary of The Great War.
