THREE men - two 24-year-olds and a 22-year-old - have been arrested on suspicion of street robbery and secondary assault that allegedly took place in Kendal on Chriistmas Eve.
Police say that officers from South Cumbria CID are investigating an apparent street robbery that took place on Stramongate Bridge between 3.30pm and 4pm on Tuesday.
A police statement says that three men allegedly alighted from a black VVolkswagen car and knocked a 20-year-old man to the ground stealing a carrier bag containing Christmas presents.
It adds that the 20-year-old victim later went to confront his alleged attackers at an address in Castle Grove. He was allegedly struck by a golf club and sustained a broken wrist that required hospital treatment.
Police are appealing for information to the alleged incident which happened in a busy area of town.
