HELVELLYN has been voted Britain’s second favourite mountain in a poll carried out by Trail magazine.
The Lake District peak came in behind Tryfan in Snowdonia, after hillwalkers cast their votes.
But Scafell Pike, England’s highest peak, failed to make the top 10 – coming in at 13th, with just two per cent of votes.
