I HAVE gone on a little spending spree this week. Well I spent £50 on three similar items, but on my wage that is quite a spree...
I have become a little bit obsessed with the smock dress. In the 50s the ‘smock’ was very much the fashion for pregnant ladies but now, A-List fashionista’s and myself have a wardrobe fully of them.
My boyfriend often complains that I wear ‘baggy’ clothing and I do not show off my figure. But for me it’s all about comfort and that’s what I love about the smock dress. If I’m having a ‘fat day’ I can throw on the trusty dress and hide any lumps and bumps and take comfort in the fact that Vogue favourite, size 0 Alexa Chung ‘hides’ her tiny frame in a smock dress on a daily basis.
This trusted item of clothing is also a staple for my going out attire. Whack on a brightly coloured smock dress and some high heels and I am ready to rock and roll. Well go to the local pub and feel ‘fabulous’....
I LOVE fashion website asos.com and have purchased all my recent smock dresses from here. This cute little swing/smock dress in swan print (a bargain at £10) would be great for a night out on the town with some bright statement heels and bare legs or if you’re not from Newcastle like me - black tights.
The other item I snapped up was this baby fox print smock dress (£11). This will be perfect for throwing on over leggings and some Ugg boots. I’m sure my boyfriend will have something to say when I pop on my ‘baggy’ smock dress but what does he know about fashion? Nothing, I hear you all say, nothing!
