A HELICOPTER, ambulance, police officers and a mountain rescue team were sent to Warton Crag today - to find a group of climbers making a film.
A member of the public phoned 999 after hearing screaming and seeing someone fall just before 10am.
However on arrival it was discovered a group of four males were in fact safe and had been making a film in the area.
A North West Ambulance spokesperson, which dispatched a road ambulance and a helicopter, said: "When we receive a 999 call we have no reason not to believe the caller."
A Kendal Mountain Rescue Team spokesperson added: "A well intentioned report of what could have been a very serious incident."
