A CYCLIST was airlifted to hospital after crashing his bike on one of the highest mountain passes in England.
The 37-year-old man suffered head and neck injuries when he came off his bike while descending Honister Pass.
The biker, from Whitehaven, was travelling towards Seatoller when the accident happened at 2.30pm yesterday (March 17).
The Great North Air Ambulance and the North West Ambulance Service treated the casualty before flying him to Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle where he was said to be in a stable condition.
