LEATHER. Yes I said it. Leather. Always something I have been a little bit wary of wearing. Not just for the ‘naughty’ connotations but I have had many nightmares of getting stuck in some leather pants and having to be cut out by a fireman. Okay, I’m a drama queen but you get my point.

Cool, modern and most of all edgy, evening wear has taken a decisively sexy turn, with everyone from Kim Kardashian to...me, being brave enough to wear the ‘dangerous’ trend.

I say dangerous because it is quite difficult to pull off. Too tight and my legs look like sausages but too baggy and it just looks plain wrong. I’ve found a happy medium in my beautiful Miss Selfridge leather dress. I wore it to bring in the New Year and it has been a firm favourite ever since. Worn with my bright blue statement heels and a dollop of fake tan (Geordie Shore style) and I’m ready to go.

For those not yet comfortable enough to wear a leather dress, the leather jacket is an item that will always be in fashion. From rock chic, to festival chic, to just throw on over every outfit chic, it’s a winner. Again, I’m going to fashion website asos.com for inspiration. This leather jacket at £74.50 would look super chic with some skinny jeans.

And this mini skirt at £38 is so cute, wear with a pastel jumper or ‘sexy’ blouse and you’ll need a fireman for different reasons...
