Children have been planting wildflower seeds as part of a project run by the Cumbria Wildlife Trust.
Youngsters at Selside Endowed School were given a talk about meadow flowers and then took the opportunity to plant their own seeds, which they will cultivate into plug plants.
The project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, was designed to teach children about the importance of wildflowers in the the environment.
