THE Dorian Players are giving a concert this Sunday (May 18) at Swarthmoor Hall, near Ulverston.
It is called 'Sweet Lovers Love the Spring', and consists of songs, music and poetry from the Medieval and Renaissance periods, all based on the theme of love.
The music will be played on authentic instruments of the time - viola, harp, crumhorn, gemshorn, recorder and racket - with the performers in costume.
Organisers say it will be a 'delightful concert', with poems by such writers as Chaucer, Shakespeare, Sir Walter Raleigh, Queen Elizabeth I.
The concert starts at 2.30 pm. and admission is £10 which includes refreshments.
