THE sun shone for the annual Keswick Scruffs Dog Show as hundreds of people and their pooches of all breeds, shapes and sizes enjoyed a day of competitions, including the dog with the waggiest tail, longest ears, best howl and best trick.
Scruffs had received national press attention when its doggy frisbee catching competitions were banned on the grounds of health and safety – but there were still dog agility displays and demonstrations by Lake District Mountain Search and Rescue Dogs and police dogs.
Comedian Jon Richardson made an appearance to watch his sister’s dog in the agility demonstration, bringing with him a Channel 4 TV crew, who filmed the event for a travel series.
