VOLUNTEER rescuers towed a fishing boat to safety yesterday (Friday July 11) after it broke down in Walney Channel.
The RNLI inshore lifeboat ‘Vision of Tamworth’ based at Roa Island went to the aid of the stricken vessel at around 6pm after it developed an electric fault.
The boat, containing a sole occupant, was found a mile south of the lifeboat station and was towed to safety.
