A PENSIONER was flown to hospital after falling three metres while fell walking at Buttermere yesterday (August 3).
The man in his 60s slipped on a foot path at Scale Force and suffered head injuries in the fall at around 11.40am.
Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team and Cumbria Police assisted the walker who was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle by Sea King Helicopter from RAF Bulmer.
Twenty members were involved in the rescue.
