A MOUNTAIN biker who fell and suffered a suspected leg fracture was taken to hospital.
Coniston Mountain Rescue Team was called out at 9.19am on Sunday (August 31) after the cyclist came off his bike on a bridleway above Bowkerstead Farm, Satterthwaite.
North West Ambulance Service treated the casualty on the scene with pain relief and put a splint on his leg before rescue team members stretchered him 400 meters to a waiting ambulance.
The casualty was taken to hospital after the one-and-a-half hour operation involving 15 team members.
