WHEN you find yourself subconsciously digging out an old pair of boots, you know that summer is ending.
This has already happened to me.
During the summer months it feels a bit odd to wear boots, and similarly sandals in winter, but the tides are turning and we’ve hit September.
The warm weather seems but a distant memory, and the cold we forgot about is becoming a reality.
Saying that, it is not exactly fully-fledged boot-wearing weather so I’ve settled on middle ground ankle boots.
The shelves are already stocked with winter warmers and the shoe departments are awash with both suitable and unsuitable boots.
I’m a real lover of suede and Fat Face have the perfect soft burnished suede ankle boots with an elastic panel with buckle detailing at £65.
Not exactly designed for extreme weather, these are a comfortable, dry and warm alternative to the now over worn ballet shoes or pumps.
These ‘Segsbury Ruched’ boots would be ideal with a pair of skinny jeans, plain tee and a figure-hugging leather jacket or a colourful statement dress teamed with a denim jacket.
The store also has a wide range of other cute and even sturdier boots.
For more of a heel, head to Marks and Spencer where they have a mink coloured pair of suede strap ankle boots at £65.
WIth a flattering cut and colour, these are perfect for giving any outfit -dresses, skirts or jeans - a feminine twist and a little-but-confidence-boosting lift.
