HOSPITALS are putting staff at the forefront of decision-making with a new action agenda.
University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust (UHMBT) has launched a Listening into Action (LiA) programme which will see staff identifying and overcoming on-the-ground issues which prevent them providing the best care to patients.
"The value of Listening into Action is in its constant focus on how staff feel, and in its clear method for making sure we take notice and carry through the things the people who work here – who know most about how everything works – want to see," said Elizabeth McDougall, the trust’s LiA lead. "Our staff want to provide the very best care at all times to their patients, so listening to, and acting on, what our staff want to change and develop will translate directly to better care for patients."
This comes off the back of the trust's Listening into Action Big Conversations which took place across Kendal, Barrow and Lancaster in December.
