A WALK alongside the River Swale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park has been improved for walkers thanks to a project to restore the footpath.
Volunteers and Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority staff have been hard at work repairing a section of a public right of way in Melbecks on the river's north bank between Isles Bridge near Crackpot and Feetham.
Ian Broadwith, the Authority's Access Ranger for Swaledale and Arkengarthdale, said: "It is a very popular footpath with both local people and the users of the low-level route of Wainwright's Coast to Coast walk, which passes through Swaledale.”
