North Yorkshire County Council is in the top 20% of authorities for the performance of its schools and colleges at GCSE and A-Level.
National school performance tables show 61% of GCSE pupils achieved 5 A*-C results, more than four percentage points above the national average.
At A level it ranked 24th in the country for points per student with 23% per cent of North Yorkshire students gaining three A levels.
