CREWS tackled a fire in the insulation of a bitumen tank in Milnthorpe today (March 6).
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service was called at 10.23am to the incident involving the 40-tonne tank of bitumen.

A spokesperson said: "Insulation to the tank was involved in fire. Firefighters and site personnel removed metal insulation sheeting at the top of the tank, 10 metres above ground, then dampened and removed the lagging.
"Once the tank had cooled to its regulated temperature the incident was handed over to site manager."
There was no more information at this time.
