POLICE have confirmed that there is no evidence of contamination or criminality following an investigation into claims of make-up tampering at Beales, Kendal.
Officers were called at 1.01pm on Tuesday, March 17, after a witness said that a single makeup container may have been tampered with by someone adding a suspicious liquid.
Police secured the scene of the incident, on Finkle Street, nobody was injured and there was not believed to be a serious risk to members of the public at that time.

Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Furzana Nazir, South Cumbria CID, said: "The container was sent away for forensic testing and police can now confirm that nothing harmful or corrosive was present. The store has been and remains open for business."
