MUMS at a Kendal church are appealing for summer clothes to help refugees in the Middle East.
Rebecca Holliday, Emily Rowe are Justine Yarker have set up a collection point at St Thomas's Church, Windermere Road, and they would also love to hear from anyone who has time to help pack up the boxes.
Donations of excellent-quality items would be welcomed by Sunday, May 17, including:
- baby and children's clothes
- men's clothes (shorts to be knee length)
- women's clothes (no shorts, short skirts or sleeveless tops - short sleeves are fine)
- new underwear
- shoes and clean wellies
- light cotton blankets
- sheets and towels
- wheelchairs, walking frames and pairs of crutches.
Donations towards shipping costs would also be appreciated.
The project is part of Samara's Aid Appeal, set up by a mum in Brighton after reading about refugees' plight in Iraq and Syria.
