Search operation launched for lost walkers in Lake District
TWO lost walkers were found by a search team in the Lake District.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called by Cumbria Police at 5.30pm yesterday (May 27) to go to the assistance of the walkers who were lost in the Thornthwaite Crag area, west of Haweswater.
The team located the missing persons using the SARLOC system and sent four team members to their aid.
MORE TOP STORIES: A spokesperson said they were found cold and wet but in 'good spirits' at the Beacon, near Thornthwaite Crag.
After a quick assessment they were walked back down to the team Land Rover situated in Pasture Bottom.
The rescue lasted four-and-a-half hours and involved seven team members.
